Overview
This course is designed to prepare students for the challenges of the 2391 level-3 inspection and testing course.
The City & Guilds 2391 qualification is highly in demand and is designed primarily for candidates who are experienced in inspection and testing and is, industry wide, a short course.
This can prove to be challenging for people who need the qualification and do not necessarily have much experience in inspection and testing or, who have not carried out any testing for a period of time.
We have created this preparation course to address those needs and adequately prepare the student for three-phase testing and fault-finding.
In this two-day course, you will be carrying out more fault-finding and diagnosis than the actual 2391 course!
This will be helpful, especially for those who are not used to testing three-phase installations. It will allow you to get more value from the upcoming 2391 course and come away with more confidence in inspection, testing and fault-finding.
The course will consist of:
- An introduction to three-phase
- Three-phase inspection and testing
- Techniques for effectively testing a three-phase installation
- DOL starters and induction motors
- In-depth fault finding
- Three-phase prospective fault current
- Distribution boards
- How to correctly diagnose and record faults for a condition report (EICR)
- An introduction to the certification process and classification coding
